Wilson signs first professional contract

Youngster rewarded for terrific progress in 2016/17

TEENAGE defender Kane Wilson has signed his first professional contract at Albion.

The 17-year-old has penned a deal which keeps him at The Hawthorns until the summer of 2019.

Wilson’s new contract comes as a result of the impressive progress he has made throughout the 2016/17 campaign.

The youngster completed a full pre-season with Tony Pulis’ senior squad and made appearances in notable friendlies against Vitesse Arnhem and Real Mallorca.

He was named as a substitute for the Baggies’ first two Premier League games of the season, away at Crystal Palace and at home to Everton, before going on to make his first-team debut as a second-half substitute in the EFL Cup tie at Northampton Town.

Wilson has also been a regular in the England Under-17 squad, as well as Albion’s Premier League 2 group.
