Morton strikes late to earn Under-18s Liverpool draw

Albion hold Reds to 2-2 draw

CALLUM Morton’s 85th-minute strike secured a solid point for Albion’s Under-18 side at Liverpool on Saturday morning.

The Reds, who were being closely watched by now Academy Coach Steven Gerrard, took the lead from the penalty spot on the half-hour mark.

Albion came out fighting after the break and were level just two minutes into the second half. Finn Azaz curled home from the edge of the area after fine work down the left from Jack McCourt.

The hosts regained the lead, but the Baggies weren’t to be denied a share of the spoils and grabbed an equaliser when Morton slotted the ball into the far corner following impressive footwork from Azaz.
