Rodriguez pleased with turning point

JAY Rodriguez hopes his late leveller against Arsenal will give Albion the required momentum to go on a run.

The 28-year-old striker fired home an 89th-minute penalty to earn the Baggies a much-deserved point at The Hawthorns.

And Rodriguez hopes the tide has now turned in Albion’s favour as the Club climb to 19th in the Premier League table.

“We deserved a point, if not three points, for the way we played,” he said.

“We took the game to Arsenal and it was important to come away from the game with at least a point.

“We spoke before the game about how we hadn’t had a penalty for ages.

“I honestly feel we did deserve the penalty, I think it did hit his hand, and I was delighted when it was given.

“It’s a good result, especially against a great side like Arsenal.

“They’re always a difficult team to play because of the quality players they’ve got.

“I thought we caused them problems which is pleasing.

“It’s all about momentum now and we’re putting our game to other teams which is something we are working hard at.

“Every lad is working to the maximum and we just need that little bit of luck, maybe, to kick us off.

“I thought the crowd today were brilliant, we spoke at the end about how good the crowd were, and we’re just pleased we were able to give them something back.

“It’s been difficult but I really hope the momentum has changed and things will be more positive.”
