Pardew: We learned some lessons

ALAN Pardew believes he knows more about his side after they were narrowly defeated 2-1 by Manchester United at The Hawthorns.

“I learned some lessons today and I think the team learned some lessons today," he said.

“The only thing we can lean on is that we have 18 games to go, and we need to make sure that every game going forward now we’re tough to beat.

“The second half was a lot better. Jay came on and linked the play. Suddenly Chris Brunt evens us up on the left hand side and we look a threat there with him and Kieran Gibbs.

“Barry came on and passed it forward, looked like he was trying to make something happen, and those little moment changed the complexion of the game.

“We got a goal, could have had a penalty, and then had a couple of half chances towards the end.

“We’re under no illusions as to where we are. These games that we’re losing - we have to stop that, and the only way you’re going to do that is by being really tough and hard every week.

“We’ve scored, thank goodness. We’ll put that behind us and now let’s go and see if we can get ourselves a win."
