Burke wants to be first name on the teamsheet

ALBION new boy Oliver Burke wants to 'play a big part' for the Baggies in the upcoming Premier League season.

After signing a five-year deal, Burke spoke to WBA TV for the first time as an Albion player and outlined what he hoped to achieve during his time at The Hawthorns.

"There's a lot I want to achieve," said Oli.

"I want to play a big part in the team and be the first name on the teamsheet.

"I want to have an impact."

And the 20-year-old had a message for the Albion fans, pledging to bring an element of excitement to any game he plays in the blue-and-white stripes.

"I'd say I'm an exciting player.

"I use a lot of pace and strength - pace is my big attribute.

"Hopefully I can get the fans off their feet and impress!"

After joining from Bundesliga outfit Red Bull Leipzig, the Scotland international opened up as to why he'd given up the prospect of Champions League football to come and ply his trade in West Bromwich.

"I learned a lot over in Germany and I can't knock that.

"But it's time for me to move on, play more games and start enjoying my football.

"To play in the Premier League will be an amazing achievement for me and I'm very happy."
