INTERNATIONALS: Five Baggies taste defeat

Northern Ireland, Scotland and Venezuela beaten

FIVE Albion stars were left disappointed after Northern Ireland, Scotland and Venezuela were all beaten in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches last night.

Jonny Evans and Gareth McAuley played 90 minutes for Northern Ireland as they were beaten 2-0 by Germany in Hanover.

First-half goals from Julian Draxler and Sami Khedira leave Michael O'Neill's side in third place in the Group C table.

There was also misery for Baggies skipper Darren Fletcher who played 64 minutes in Scotland's 3-0 loss in Slovakia.

James Morrison was an unused substitute as Scotland slipped to fourth in Group D.

And qualification for Russia 2018 looks equally unlikely for Salomon Rondon and Venezuela.

La Vinotinto are yet to win a game in the South American qualifying campaign and last night's 2-0 defeat to Brazil leaves them 14 points off a play-off spot.
