Four Albion players feature for nations on Saturday

Evans and McAuley turn attention to Euro 2016

JONNY Evans and Gareth McAuley completed 90 minutes as Northern Ireland drew 0-0 with Slovakia in their final friendly outing before Euro 2016.

The result means Northern Ireland will go into the tournament on the back of a record 12-game unbeaten run.

The defensive duo’s attentions will now turn to the opening game at the finals in France, which is a clash with Poland in Nice on Sunday, June 12 (ko 5pm).

Michael O’Neill’s side will also come up against Ukraine and Germany in Group C.

Meanwhile, Albion skipper Darren Fletcher captained Scotland against Euro 2016 hosts France in Metz.

The midfielder completed the whole game but was unable to prevent his nation slipping to a 3-0 defeat.

An Olivier Giroud double as well as a goal from Arsenal team-mate Laurant Koscielny, all in the first-half, ensured a comfortable victory for the French.

Finally, Cristian Gamboa played 90 minutes as Costa Rica drew 0-0 with Paraguay in Orlando in their opening match at the Copa America.

Costa Rica’s remaining two fixtures in Group A are against the hosts USA and Colombia.
