Fixtures Day: From Albion base camp to Everest

All the facts and figures for next season's travelling fans

ALBION fans will cover the equivalent of a trip to Everest next season as they back their team to climb the Premier League mountain.

We have been crunching the numbers on behalf of the Baggies devotees who will be on the road going to all 19 away games.

* Full fixture list
* Guide to Premier League newcomers
* Key dates for your diary
Five Hawthorns fixtures you won't want to miss

* The First Albion XI for next season
* Season tickets on general sale from Monday

Those fans will chalk up more than 4,500 miles – Cup games not withstanding – and that equates to a trip to Nepal where thousands pour every year to gaze at the world’s highest mountain.

Based on round trips direct from The Hawthorns - the nation's highest stadium of course - to all 19 opponents, our fans will cover 4,558 miles.

But despite losing from the fixture list our closests neighbours around the West Midlands, that will be the shortest travelling for any group of top flight supporters.

With Albion now the only Premier League team in the West Midlands, our shortest journey sees us travel 40 miles up the M6 to face Stoke City.

The Baggies’ longest jaunt is a 420-mile round trip for the Sunderland fixture at the Stadium of Light.

On average, the travelling distance to an away game in 2016/17 is 240 miles.

Albion will travel north on ten occasions – Burnley, Everton, Hull City, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Stoke City and Sunderland – and south nine times – AFC Bournemouth, Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Swansea City, Tottenham Hotspur, Watford and West Ham.
