Popular midfielder on life as a professional
A radiant smile is never too far from the face of Albion midfielder and fans’ favourite Claudio Yacob.
The popular Argentinian, who arrived in July 2012 after a spell with Racing Club in his homeland, quickly won the hearts of Baggies supporters thanks to his charismatic personality and no-nonsense style.
The 28-year-old plays a key role for Tony Pulis’ side in one the world’s biggest and most pressurised leagues but Yacob is keen to stress the importance of enjoying the game which so many people love around the globe.
“I really enjoy being a professional footballer,” said the Baggies number five.
“I love being able to play in the Premier League for Albion.
“I feel privileged because I do what I love for a job, football has always been a passion of mine.
“I always try to be happy in my life and that is very important to me.
“When we train and play games I always make sure I am taking the sessions and the matches seriously but you have to enjoy it all as well.
“The group we have at Albion is very good and that is also why I love playing football here.”
