Under-21s set for final outing at The Lamb

Baggies aiming to stay in title race

ALBION’S Under-21 side face Fulham in the Barclays U21 Premier League Division Two on Monday night (ko 7pm).

It will be the final fixture to be played at Tamworth FC’s Lamb Ground, with the Baggies’ remaining two home matches against local rivals Wolves and Villa to be played at The Hawthorns.

The youngsters, who drew 1-1 at Fulham in their most recent league encounter, sit fourth in the table, seven points behind the leaders Derby who have played a game more.

With just seven league matches left to be played, Under-21 boss James Shan has challenged his players to give themselves the best possible chance of winning promotion.

Shan said: “We have seven games left and the target for the boys is to give themselves the best chance of gaining promotion to Division One.

“To do that they need to start turning the draws into victories.

“On the flip side, we can be proud of the fact that we have only suffered two defeats in the league in almost a year.

“We came up against Fulham recently and it was a good competitive game, so I am expecting very much the same on Monday night.

“With the two games so close together, both sides will have a greater appreciation of how the other will want to try and play.”

Entry is free to both West Bromwich Albion and Tamworth season ticket holders, otherwise tickets on the gate are available for £5 adults and £1 concessions.

Come on you Baggies!
