27 December 2016

Mixed fortunes for Albion loanees

FOUR Albion loanees were in action on Boxing Day.

Defender Kyle Howkins made his comeback from injury and played 90 minutes as his Mansfield side were beaten 1-0 at home to Morecambe in Sky Bet League Two.

Also in League Two, Tahvon Campbell was an unused substitute as his Yeovil side were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Exeter.

Tyler Roberts played just under ten minutes for Oxford United in League One as Northampton Town triumphed 1-0 in the local derby thanks to a last-minute winner.

But there was a victory for Joe Ward and Torquay United who edged a seven-goal thriller at home to Forest Green Rovers. Ward was an 88th minute substitute in the 4-3 win which keeps the Gulls in 17th place in the Vanarama National League.

Ethan Ross, meanwhile, kept a clean sheet for Worcester City in a goalless draw with Kidderminster Harriers in the National League North.
