Albion Foundation to launch Player Development Centre

Centre to help development of youngsters

THE Albion Foundation are looking for the stars of the future after launching a Player Development Centre.

The first block of sessions aimed at Under-7s, Under-8s, Under-9s and goalkeeper groups begins on September 23 and will run until October 20 at a price of £22.50 - five sessions for £4.50 each.

If you would like to book your child on to this course, please visit www.thealbionfoundation.co.uk or call 0871 271 9840.

The centre, based at Q3 Academy, has been created to help players, from the age groups U8s to U12s, reach their full potential and offers pathways into the club’s Development centre and Academy sides.

Training sessions will be delivered by The Albion Foundation’s highly-qualified coaches and have a technical and tactical focus that mirrors the West Bromwich Albion Academy curriculum, designed by Head of Academy Mark Harrison.

Training will take place during term-time evenings, with matches being played during school holidays. The Player Development Centre teams will play against other Player Development Centre teams from other clubs, as well as Albion’s own advanced Development Centre.

The centre, which has been backed by the club’s Academy, will offer each player a termly report on their technical and tactical development and also key areas to improve.

Player Development Centre’s are not intended to stop players playing for their local clubs, but are an opportunity to gain extra contact time on the grass to help them improve their skills.
