Youngsters fall to defeat in local derby

Leko strike in vain against Villa

ALBION’S Under-18s were left disappointed in the local derby on Saturday, as Villa ran out 3-1 winners in the Barclays U18 Premier League.

After a goalless first-half, the visitors then raced into a two-goal lead before Jonathan Leko pulled one back after 75 minutes, with a right-footed strike from the edge of the box.

However the visitors wrapped up the victory with a third goal in the closing stages, inflicting Albion’s first defeat in five games.

Albion: Ross, Ezewele (Sweeney 90’), McCourt, Gannon, Gregory (Cater 76’), Fitzwater, Hallahan (Miller 81’), Elbouzedi, Roberts, Smith, Leko.
Subs: Moran, Field.
