Baggies stopper to earn seventh cap against Ecuador
BEN Foster is set to start tonight’s friendly encounter against Ecuador as England step up their World Cup preparations.
The Albion goalkeeper is poised to earn his seventh cap for the Three Lions at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami (8pm kick-off).
Having last Friday seen off Peru 3-0 at Wembley - where Foster was an unused substitute - England have flown out to Florida for two warm-up matches against fellow 2014 World Cup teams Ecuador and Honduras.
And England manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed Foster will start tonight’s international alongside the likes of Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard and James Milner.
"Frank is captaining the team, Wayne Rooney and Ben Foster will start the game,” revealed the former Albion head coach.
“I am pretty sure you will look at the team against Peru and you will start looking at some guys that didn’t play and you will put some of them in the team - and you won’t be too far wrong.
"I am not trying to fool anybody but I do not want to name the exact team until I have had a chance to tell the players."
Tonight’s clash is set to be Foster’s second international cap since joining Albion having stepped off the bench at half-time in a 1-1 draw against the Republic of Ireland in May 2013.
Following the completion of their final two warm-up matches, England will fly out to Brazil ahead of their World Cup Group D campaign starting next Saturday (June 14) against Italy.
