Morrison boost for Baggies

And Mel provides update on Thievy, Anelka, Olsson and Sessegnon

ALBION have been given a boost with the news James Morrison will be fit to face Crystal Palace on Saturday (ko 3pm).

The Baggies have also received international clearance for new loan signing Thievy Bifouma ahead of the trip to Selhurst Park – and Pepe Mel revealed the 21-year-old forward is likely to start on the bench.

But the London encounter and Tuesday’s home clash with Chelsea (ko 8pm) will come too soon for Nicolas Anelka (knee), Jonas Olsson (hamstring) and Stephane Sessegnon (groin), who could all be available to face Fulham in 16 days’ time.

“Thievy has only had two training sessions so far,” said Mel.

“He won’t make the first XI on Saturday and I think against Crystal Palace he is best on the bench.

“The doctor tells me it is possible Anelka, Olsson and Sessegnon will be working with the team in the week before the Fulham game.”
