Baggies complete iconic comeback at Upton Park

TODAY we bring you highlights of an unforgettable 4-3 Division One win over West Ham from November 2003.

The Hammers led after only 45 seconds when a young Jermain Defoe pounced to put the hosts in front.

Debutant Brian Deane netted twice to seemingly seal all three points for Alan Pardew’s side inside 20 minutes.

But Rob Hulse fired a first-half brace to give the Baggies hope going into the interval - before Deane scored an own goal to level the scores on 66.

Defoe was given a straight red card by referee Mike Dean, who will also oversee tomorrow’s game at The Hawthorns (ko 3pm), for a late challenge on Sean Gregan.

Substitute Lee Hughes volleyed in from David James’ punched clearance to grab the Baggies all three points late on.
