Dorrans looking at positives

But midfielder admits first ten minutes at City was 'unacceptable'

GRAHAM Dorrans has urged his team-mates to take the positives from their second-half display against title-challenging Manchester City into Saturday’s game with West Ham (ko 3pm).

The Baggies midfielder’s goal-of-the-season contender to make it 2-1 after 16 minutes was his second strike in his last four games.

But, after being 3-1 down after 36 minutes and giving themselves a mountain to climb, he admits the most satisfying thing was shutting free-scoring City out after the break.

“The first ten minutes was unacceptable,” said Dorrans.

“We knew they were going to come out flying; that’s what they did and we never matched it.

“It’s already difficult coming to a place like this – but when you’re 2-0 down after ten minutes it makes it even worse.

“After that we played okay.

“It was nice to get on the scoresheet but it’s about getting points on the board and we never did that.

“We did well in the second half but unfortunately couldn’t nick another goal to get us back in the game.

“We kept a good shape and we take some positives from the game into Saturday.

“Everyone - apart from everyone in our squad - expected us to come here and lose.

“We go again on Saturday.

“It’s a big game and hopefully we can get the three points.

“Everyone in the dressing room believes we can go anywhere and get three points.”
