Clarke provides update on young midfielder
STEVE Clarke has revealed George Thorne has had to put his injury comeback on hold.The 20-year-old midfielder had targeted playing a part in tomorrow’s Barclays Under-21 Premier League trip to Arsenal (ko 7pm) after being sidelined by anterior cruciate ligament damage since January.
But he has had to postpone his return to match action after picking up a minor knock in training today.
“George will not be able to figure tomorrow due to a minor knock,” said Clarke.
“We’ve decided not to risk him unnecessarily.”
