Albion U18 1 West Ham U18 2

ALBION suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of West Ham United in the Barclays U18 Premier League on Saturday.

Danny Barrow (pictured) struck a fine second-half free-kick to level the scores but the Hammers reclaimed the lead through Kieran Bywater late on.

“The first half was fairly even but I wasn’t particularly happy with our performance,” said lead professional development coach, James Shan.

“We were much more competitive in the second half and enjoyed a better share of possession.

“A draw would have been about right and we were unfortunate with some of the referee’s decisions.

“We should have had a penalty in the first half.

“If we can continue to perform as we did in the second half it will stand us in good stead for the rest of the season.”
