Clarke issues mixed injury bulletin

Head coach offers updates on Morrison and Dorrans

STEVE Clarke has ruled James Morrison out of Saturday’s trip to West Ham (ko 3pm) – but is hopeful Graham Dorrans could return to Albion action.

Morrison suffered a hamstring injury in the goalless draw with Stoke two weeks ago and later withdrew from Scotland duty.

But fellow countryman Dorrans recovered from a slight calf strain to make Gordon Strachan’s starting line-up in the 2-1 defeat by Wales at Hampden Park last week.

“The only one that will struggle at the weekend is James Morrison as he didn’t go away on international duty and he’ll be very, very doubtful for the game,” said Clarke.

“Hopefully he’ll be okay for the Arsenal game.

“Graham (Dorrans) went away and played the first game for Scotland against Wales and came through it well.

“I think we’ve been lucky during the international break.

“By and large everybody is back in good shape.

“I think we’ll have an almost full squad to choose from.”
