Olsson keeps World Cup hopes alive

And Dawson has watching brief for England U21s

JONAS Olsson came on as an 83rd-minute substitute for Ola Toivonen in Sweden’s 2-0 World Cup qualifier win over the Faroe Islands last night.

The victory for the Swedes sees them move up to third in Group C, level on points with Austria and the Republic of Ireland and five adrift of leaders Germany, with four games remaining.

Craig Dawson was an unused substitute as England Under-21s lost their final group game 1-0 to hosts Israel and exited the European Championships pointless.

Youssouf Mulumbu now remains the only Albion player on international duty this summer as he prepares for DR Congo's African zone World Cup qualifier against Cameroon in Kinshasa on Sunday.
