Albion appoint new Legal Counsel

Carrington will also take on role of Club Secretary

ALBION have appointed Simon Carrington as the Club’s new Legal Counsel/Club Secretary.

The 29-year-old has been on secondment from the Birmingham office of international law firm Squire Sanders since early February, covering the duties of Richard Garlick after his promotion to the post of Sporting & Technical Director (Designate).

Simon is a qualified solicitor. He specialises in commercial contract matters, branding and intellectual property but also has experience in legal employment issues.

Birmingham-born Simon will be responsible for the Club’s administrative and legal affairs and will work closely with Richard, particularly during this summer’s transfer window.

“I’ve really enjoyed the time I’ve spent at the club since February and I’m delighted to have been given this opportunity,” said Simon.

“I’ve joined the club at an exciting time. I hope to build on Richard’s hard work and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”

Simon studied Law and Business at the University of Birmingham and completed his legal practice course at the College of Law.

He also spent several years – both during and after his studies – working for an international medical skincare company and a UK-based steel supplier.
