Baggies ease into third round

ROBYN James fired a brace as Sporting Club Albion Ladies cruised into the FA Cup third round with a 5-1 victory at Colchester United on Sunday.

Ashleigh Neville, Abby Pope and Natasha Baptiste were also on the scoresheet in the Baggies’ first match of 2013.

Albion will travel to Leafield in the third round of the competition on Sunday, February 3 (ko 1pm).

And Baggies boss Dave Lawrence was impressed with his side’s professional display at the weekend.

“We’re very pleased and it’s always good to see the hard work in training come out in an excellent performance,” said Lawrence.

“We went into a game with a specific game plan and we stuck to it when we needed to, but players adapted to a change in their strategy really well.

“Our shape and organisation was exceptional and our midfield were dominant throughout.

“Leafield will be tough opposition and they have been very strong this season and will be up for the challenge.”

ALBION: Thomas, Darby, Key, Owen, Broadbent, Fellows, Nymeon, Neville, James (Baptiste 67), Pope (Scott 85).
