Sinclair reckons patience will pay off

Winger praises medical team as he eyes Hull start

SCOTT Sinclair has paid tribute to Albion’s medical team for returning him to action in the best shape possible.

The on-loan Manchester City winger made his long-awaited comeback from a hamstring injury in last weekend’s trip to Cardiff after a frustrating ten weeks on the sidelines.

But he is confident the patient approach to his recovery will stand him in good stead as he waits to see if he is named in caretaker boss Keith Downing’s starting XI against Hull this afternoon (ko 3pm).

“The gaffer leaving was a shock but as professionals we just have to carry on, get on with the weekend’s game and keep going forward,” said Sinclair.

“Being out with a hamstring injury for two and half months is frustrating.

“And on a personal note getting back on the pitch was great last weekend.

“I’m training, I’m 100 per cent fit, and now I’m looking to kick-start my season, play games, and help Albion.

“You can’t rush back from a hamstring injury because otherwise it can pull again.

“You have to be right and I think the physios and all the staff here have been exceptional throughout my rehab.

“I can look forward now and make sure I get some playing time in the team.

“Keith’s taken over as caretaker boss and everyone knows him well.

“Now we just need to stick together and make sure we get results.”
