Sinclair focusing on here and now

Former Swansea winger relishing Cardiff clash

SCOTT Sinclair insists his only focus is getting minutes on the pitch as he aims to come back stronger from injury against Cardiff on Saturday (ko 3pm).

The Manchester City winger joined the Baggies on a season-long loan, with a view to a permanent move, in August.

But he has been sidelined for the last ten weeks due to the hamstring problem he suffered in the opening 13 minutes of Albion’s 2-1 win at Manchester United.

And he is refusing to ponder where his future might lie in the summer, preferring to concentrate on delivering for Steve Clarke’s men for the remainder of the campaign.

“Hopefully, I can be right for the weekend against Cardiff,” said the former Swansea forward.

“It was frustrating to get injured.

“At the start of the season, I got my match fitness up playing a few games and I thought I'm back to my normal self – then got injured.

“But you know you have to come back stronger.

“I'm looking forward to Saturday."

He added: “I haven't thought about my future.

“The only thing I'm concentrating on is playing for Albion.

“I have a lot of catching up to do.

“I need to hit the ground running and hopefully now I can crack on and build from there.”

The 15th-placed Baggies head to Wales looking for their first win in six games against a Bluebirds outfit who are just one place and one point behind them in the Barclays Premier League table.

Sinclair said: “You never know who will beat who in the Premier League - it's very competitive.

“I'm sure the team and the form will pick up.

“We have a good head coach, who is trusted, and we need to kick on.
"It's about getting results - but in the Premier League you cannot all do that.

“We're confident in the team we've got to keep picking up points.”
