LOAN WATCH: Gayle secures Shrews safety

Four on-loan players in action

CAMERON Gayle helped secure Shrewsbury Town’s npower League One status in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Colchester.

The 20-year-old centre-half completed 90 minutes at the Weston Homes Community Stadium after recovering from a hamstring injury which saw him sidelined for over a month.

James Hurst (Shrewsbury) and Bradley Garmston (Colchester) were unused substitutes in the game.

Craig Dawson played all 90 minutes as Bolton maintained their push for a play-off place with a 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough in the Championship.

Romaine Sawyers featured as a 79th-minute substitute in Walsall’s 1-1 stalemate with Barnsley – with the Saddlers now unable to qualify for the League One play-offs.

Gonzalo Jara Reyes missed Nottingham Forest’s 0-0 draw with Barnsley at the City Ground after picking up a knee injury in training on Friday.

And Yassine El Ghanassy did not miss a minute of Heerenveen’s 1-1 draw at Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie on Friday night.
