Club saddened to hear former midfielder has passed away

ALBION are saddened to hear of the passing of former midfielder Tony Grealish, who last night lost his long battle with cancer. He was 56.

Tony made 74 appearances and scored five top-flight goals for the Baggies between 1984 and 1986 before joining Manchester City.

He also earned 45 international caps for the Republic of Ireland, scoring eight times.

He joined Albion from Brighton and also played for Leyton Orient, Luton, Rotherham and Walsall.

The club would like to offer their condolences to his family and friends. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
