Gera on the scoresheet for Hungary

ZOLTAN Gera struck home a 58th-minute penalty to help Hungary to a 3-1 victory over Turkey in Budapest.

The national team skipper played all 90 minutes as the Magyars moved up to second in World Cup 2014 Qualifying Group D. 

Jonas Olsson played all of Sweden’s epic 4-4 draw with Germany in Group C. The Swedes scored four goals in 28 minutes to claw back a seemingly unassailable four-goal lead. 

In the same group Shane Long featured as an 80th-minute substitute as Republic of Ireland sealed a 4-1 victory over the Faroe Islands. 

James Morrison was taken off after 79 minutes of Scotland’s 2-0 defeat to Belgium in Group A.

Gabriel Tamas played the entirety of Romania’s 4-1 loss to Holland in Group D.

Goran Popov did not play any part in Macedonia’s 1-0 win over Serbia in Group A.

Gonzalo Jara Reyes played 90 minutes for Chile as they lost 2-1 to Argentina in their South America World Cup qualifier.

Chris Wood was an unused substitute as New Zealand took another step closer to Brazil 2014 with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Tahiti in Christchurch. 

And Craig Dawson played all 90 minutes as England Under-21s overcame Serbia 1-0 to secure a 2-0 aggregate win over two legs and qualification for Euro 2013.
