Ladies hoping for Rovers return

Baggies hoping to return to winning ways against Blackburn

SPORTING Club Albion Ladies will be looking to return to winning ways when they travel to Blackburn Rovers on Sunday (ko 2pm).

Dave Lawrence’s side have enjoyed success on the road this season, winning two of their three FA Women’s Premier League away games.

The Baggies have also been very impressive in front of goal this season, scoring 19 goals in seven league games.

Rovers Ladies have also made a good start to the season winning three of their five games so far.

“Blackburn are a decent side, who are well organised, their midfield is very disciplined and well drilled," said Lawrence.

“They keep the ball very well and we’ll have to follow suit.

“Last year we defended very well, we’ll have to restrict them and have an organised back-four but we know we can create and take our chances.”

A victory for Albion Ladies could see them potentially move into third place in the FA Women's Premier League Northern Division and will stand them in good stead for next week’s game at unbeaten league leaders Sheffield Ladies (ko 2pm).
