Yacob on bench while Gera starts second successive match

 

NEW boy Claudio Yacob starts on the bench as Steve Clarke names a strong starting line-up for today’s friendly at Sheffield Wednesday (ko 3pm).


The Argentina international is named in a matchday squad for the first time for the Hillsborough trip.


With Steven Reid missing out with a training niggle, Gonzalo Jara Reyes gets the nod at right-back while fit-again Zoltan Gera starts his second successive game in a three-pronged attack alongside Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie.


Former Owl Chris Brunt remains sidelined with a calf problem.


Ex-Albion loan signing Chris Kirkland is in goal for the hosts while Joe Mattock, released by the Baggies at the end of last season, starts on the bench.
