Markus' aim to be Albion 'Dahlin'

Striker looking to emulate fellow Swedes

MARKUS Rosenberg is hoping to follow in an illustrious line of Swedes who have proved a Barclays Premier League hit – including his agent.

The 29-year-old striker is looked after by none other than former Blackburn, Borussia Monchengladbach, Malmo and Sweden hotshot Martin Dahlin.

Dahlin fired more than 100 goals in 250 career league appearances, including strikes for Rovers in the English top flight.

And Rosenberg also has the likes of current Sweden assistant coach Marcus Allback (Villa), and former international team-mates Henrik Larsson (Manchester United) and Johnan Elmander (Bolton) to draw inspiration from.

“My agent is Martin Dahlin, who was at Blackburn and was really big in Sweden.

“We met for the first time when I was 17 or 18 years old and he has been with me through my whole career.

“He has helped me a lot.”

He added: “Henrik Larsson is also a fantastic player.

“I played with him a few times for the national team.

“He brought everything wherever he was.

“Larsson made it at all clubs, especially in Scotland and Manchester United.

“There have been a lot of good players from Sweden in the Premier League like Marcus Allback, Johan Elmander, Henrik Larsson and Martin – and hopefully I can have as much success as they had.”
