Albion v Liverpool - team news

18 August 2012

Yacob handed competitive Baggies debut

CLAUDIO Yacob is handed his competitive Albion debut as Steve Clarke names the same starting XI he fielded against Nottingham Forest in the final pre-season game.

The Baggies are also boosted by the presence of James Morrison and Jonas Olsson in the line-up after both shook off injuries picked up on midweek international duty.

And Liam Ridgewell has overcome the thigh problem he picked up at the City Ground eight days ago.

Summer signings Romelu Lukaku and Yassine El Ghanassy start on the bench.

Billy Jones misses out due to food poisoning and Graham Dorrans is absent due to family reasons, while the game comes too soon for Markus Rosenberg.

Brendan Rodgers’ first Barclays Premier League line-up as Reds boss contains new signings Fabio Borini and Joe Allen.
