‘This club will always have a special place in my heart’

JONAS Olsson says he will always have a special place in his heart for West Bromwich Albion.

The former Baggies defender returned to the Palm Training Ground this week to meet his old team-mates and new Head Coach Alan Pardew.

The ‘Big Swede’ enjoyed nine years at The Hawthorns before leaving for pastures new in March - but in honour of his loyal service and his charity work in India he’ll be our Fans’ Champion* for the visit of Manchester United on Sunday (ko 2.15pm).

And Jonas can’t wait to meet supporters in the Fanzone* prior to our showdown with the Red Devils.

“It feels great to be here to see all of the lads and all the people working around the club. I didn’t have the chance to say a proper farewell so it’s great to be back.

“I met the gaffer and John Carver and they seem like very nice men. They seem happy to be here so the boys are in very good hands.

“I follow all the games. Sunday will be a very special moment, I’m really looking forward to coming back to The Hawthorns to say a proper farewell.

“The fans were so good to me in my nine years here and I just want to go and see them and thank them for their support and energy throughout the years.

“It’s good to be back home in Sweden but West Bromwich and The Hawthorns will always have a special place in my heart.”

*Please arrive inside the stadium by 2pm to show your appreciation for Jonas Olsson who is also scheduled to appear in the Fanzone at approximately 12.45pm
