Stoke City Ladies 0 Albion Women 2

Albion Women claimed their first three points of the season against an in-form Stoke side at Community Drive on Thursday night.

The Baggies opened the scoring deep into the first-half after creating a handful of chances. Arber latched on to a long pass and dribbled towards goal, flying past a host of Stoke players before beating Charlotte Clarke at her near post from a tight angle.

Louis Sowe’s side extended their advantage shortly after, as Nat Murray headed home a Hannah George free-kick on the stroke of half-time.

Albion’s fluent first-half performance made way for one of desire and commitment after the break, as the Throstles limited the Potters to half chances in the second-half to hold on for the victory.

ALBION: Kinnerley, Jewitt, George, Orthodoxou, Elsmore, Baines, Murray, Nymoen (Edwards 70), Arber (James 94), Davies, Stamps (Davies 80).
