Leko stars in loan round-up

Jonathan Leko scored for Charlton Athletic as they continued their good start to the Sky Bet Championship season with a win at Reading.

The winger netted his first goal since temporarily joining the London club to help them claim the 2-0 victory, with fellow Baggies loanee Sam Field completing 74 minutes alongside him in midfield.

Leko has started five games for the Addicks so far this campaign, claiming two assists as well as that maiden goal at the weekend. Field, meanwhile, has made four appearances in the centre of the park for Lee Bowyer’s unbeaten side.

Elsewhere Alex Palmer played in goal for Plymouth as they were beaten 3-1 by Northampton on Saturday.

It’s just the second defeat that the shot-stopper has experienced while at League Two Argyle, where he’s kept three clean sheets and contributed to a trio of triumphs in his opening month.
