Albion U18s 2 Newcastle U18s 1

Albion Under-18s scored two goals in the space of one second-half minute to come from behind and beat Newcastle United 2-1 at the training ground.

The away side took the lead on 24 minutes through Lucas Gamblin and they kept their advantage right through to the interval.

But the young Baggies came out firing in the second-half and finally equalised with 16 minutes to go, Alex Gilbert striking to level things up.

And less than 60 seconds later they were ahead. Jovan Malcolm - who assisted Albion’s first goal - turned from provider to scorer to put his team 2-1 up and secure their second win of the season.

ALBION: Cann, Ingram, Williams, Taylor, Delaney; Gilbert, Smith (Andrews 45), King, Gardner-Hickman (Malcolm 45); Wakeling (Windsor 68), Thorndike.

Substitutes: Emery, Ashworth.
