Albion Under-18s fell to a 4-0 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion in the U18 Premier League Cup on Saturday.

The game was the Baggies’ first in this season’s competition, having been drawn in a group with Leicester City, Manchester United and Brighton.

Jack Spong fired in a first-half hat-trick for the hosts, who now top the group after beating Leicester 3-2 in their opening group game.

After the restart, Stefan Vukoje netted Brighton’s fourth. Despite Jovan Malcolm seeing an effort cleared off the line, the Baggies couldn’t find their way back into the game.

Peter Gilbert's team must now wait until they face Leicester on Saturday, November 23 to pursue their first win of the competition.
