EFL confirm play-off dates

Albion’s Play-Off semi-final dates and kick-off times have been clarified by the EFL, dependent upon the final finishing place of each team.

The Baggies find themselves caught up in a tense Sky Bet Championship battle for the sixth and final place in the Play-Offs which follow the end of the scheduled season.

Albion’s finishing position will either be fourth or third which will decide the dates and kick-off times of their semi-finals.

If the Baggies finish fourth, the away leg of the semi-final will go ahead on Saturday, May 11 with a 12.30pm kick-off. The home leg will then go ahead on Tuesday, May 14 with an 8pm kick-off.

Things change were Albion to clinch a third place finish on Sunday, though, which would happen in the event of a victory at Derby and Leeds losing at Ipswich.

The away leg of the semi-final would also go ahead on Saturday, May 11 with a 5.15pm kick-off while the home leg will be played on Wednesday, May 15 at 8pm.

Albion’s opponents on Sunday, Derby, are fighting to secure sixth spot under challenges from Middlesbrough (at Rotherham) and Bristol City (at Hull).

Victory for the Rams would confirm sixth place.
