Scott sets sights on FA Youth Cup progression

Albion Under-18s boss Mike Scott is excited to see how his side fair against Queens Park Rangers in the FA Youth Cup fourth round.

The young Baggies beat Lincoln City to progress to this stage of the competition, setting up the tie with QPR at The Hawthorns on Thursday nignt (ko 7pm).

And Scott's expecting a tough test from the R's, with a trip to Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur awaiting the winners.

"Peter Gilbert and I were thrilled with the performance in the last round," said Mike.

"We're looking forward to the challenge of trying to emulate a similar performance against QPR and hopefully progress into the fifth round.

"Each round you progress in this competition can bring new challenges and a better level of opposition so we're prepared for QPR to be a strong test for our players tomorrow."

Scott has every player available for selection against QPR and is looking forward to seeing how some of his players capitalise on the experiences they have gained from playing for Albion's Premier League 2 team.

"The sports science and medical team have worked wonders over the past month to enable us to be in a position tomorrow to have every player available in the squad to pick from," added Scott.

"We have been fortunate that our players have been gaining valuable experiences over the course of the the season with Jamie Smith's Under-23s, so they are used to being able to adapt and manage the expectation of playing at The Hawthorns in such a big game."

Tickets will be £5 for adults and £1 concessions and can be bought on the gate.
