Disappointed Daws finds positives in draw

Craig Dawson was impressed with Albion's performance despite being denied all three points against Norwich City late on.

Dwight Gayle's 14th goal of the season put the Baggies in front at The Hawthorns and on course for victory until Jordan Rhodes pounced to secure a share of the spoils for the Canaries seven minutes from time.

"It's hard to take, I thought we played very well," said Dawson, speaking after the 1-1 draw.

"It was a great performance, we were disappointed not to come away with three points.

"I thought we were the better side but unfortunately I feel it was probably two points dropped, but it was a great performance and we take that into the next game.

"The spirit in the group is good."

Dawson highlighted his commanding partnership with Ahmed Hegazi, with the defensive duo once again looking solid against the Canaries.

"Me and Ahmed are working well again and hopefully that continues," he added.

"We obviously work well together and we have got a great understanding between us.

"We have got some tough lads in the group and hopefully me and Ahmed can keep our places."

He also had praise for January recruit Mason Holgate, who bolstered Albion's defence.

"Mason has been a great addition to the squad, he was excellent here, and hopefully the back four can keep improving."
