Albion Under-23s eased to a 6-2 victory in an eight-goal thriller in their Premier League 2 Division Two match against Norwich City.

Albion topped a dominant performance in East Anglia with four goals from Morgan Rogers and a double from Jamie Soule.

Norwich scored twice through Alfie Payne and Adam Idah but Albion fought off the Canaries with relative ease to secure an impressive victory on the road.

Rogers warned the Canaries of his danger early on, hitting the bar from a long-range free-kick.

The hosts didn't pay attention though, and Rogers didn't take long to put the Baggies ahead.

Soule chased down Atli Barkarson to win the ball on the wing and crossed to Rogers, who took a touch and then volleyed past Nick Hayes in the Norwich goal.

Rogers would link up with Soule once more, this time the scorer turned provider, as he set up the Albion striker to slot home his first of the evening - a chance that the young forward made the most of.

Jamie Smith’s side would go further in front just before half-time, as a wonderful sweeping move from the Baggies fell to Rogers who whipped a strike into the top corner.

And the Albion midfielder secured his hat trick at the start of the second half.

Soule won the ball in a promising position and slipped Rogers through on goal, allowing Albion’s playmaker to tuck the ball past Hayes once more.

The Canaries would score their first of the evening moments later, as Alfie Payne was slipped through on goal and poked home despite Brad House and George Harmon both pouncing upon the Norwich striker.

It counted for little, though, as Rogers continued his demolition of the Canaries defence - adding his fourth of the evening with a low-curling effort from the edge of the box.

Norwich struck back immediately, with Adam Idah scoring from close-range, but Albion added to the quick-fire scoring as Soule grabbed his second of the evening, side-footing in a low shot from inside the box.

ALBION: House, Gardner-Hickman, Ferguson, Solanke, Harmon; Melbourne, Azaz, Brown (Ashton 84); Rogers, Soule, Trialist (Asomugha 78).
