Livermore keen to set 'marker'

JAKE Livermore says home form will be all-important in Albion’s quest to reach the upper echelons of the Sky Bet Championship table.

The Baggies go into Saturday’s clash with Stoke City on the back of three successive victories at The Hawthorns, scoring ten goals in the process.

And Jake believes Darren Moore’s men must extend that run of form for much of the season if they are to reach their ultimate goal of winning promotion.

“Home form is massive,” he insists. “There’s obviously more games this year, and we have so many left. We’re going to need to capitalise on our home games.

“They’re going to be important to us, to the fans, and the togetherness of the club. It’s going to be massive.

“I think there will be a few eyes on the game and it’s one where we really want to lay a marker down. That’s what we intend to do.

“We want to be at the top of the pile. We’ve had a few difficult games already and we really want to push on now.

“Stoke started with a few difficult results and it looks like they’ve just started to find their feet. It’s not going to be easy, which we’ve known all along, but we’re ready for the challenge and we’ve been working hard this week on how to win the game.”
