Darren delighted with 'potent' attack

DARREN Moore reserved a special mention for Albion’s attack-minded players following a “clinical” display against Bristol City.

The Baggies put four past the Robins, who arrived at The Hawthorns in third having won their last four games in the Sky Bet Championship, to record a fifth straight home victory in all competitions.

Jay Rodriguez notched his fifth and sixth goals of the season, Dwight Gayle slotted his fourth in Albion colours and Harvey Barnes grabbed his third of the campaign.

And the boss was delighted to see his forwards firing in front of goal on home soil once more.

He said: “I’m really pleased to get another three points.

“It makes that point at Birmingham look better in terms of following it up with a home win.

“Lee Johnson’s Bristol City are a very good team and you can see that they have a set DNA.

“It was a game where we have scored four goals, but we probably made it harder for ourselves than it should’ve been.

“We were devastating in our finishing. We were very clinical and we always looked a threat going forward.

“It was another four goals at The Hawthorns and we are delighted with that and long may it continue.

“To score those goals you have to put the hard yards in off the ball to create the opportunities.

“The boys who are scoring the goals will be the first to tell you that it’s a team effort and we are really pleased that we are creating lots of chances.

“It’s a potent attack we have here and we will continue to work with the players and try to improve.”
