Cap presentations continue with full-back special

PAUL Robinson and Ray Wilson will be in the spotlight at The Hawthorns on Tuesday as we continue to honour our former greats with a full-back special.

The individually embroidered caps bear the number of each player and their place in Hawthorns history, going all the way back to No.1 Billy Bassett in 1878.

No. 469 Wilson and No. 760 Robinson will be presented with their unique pieces of memorabilia on the pitch ahead of kick-off against Bristol City.

Robinson won promotion to the Premier League twice with the Baggies - in 2003/04 and 2007/08 - as well as playing a pivotal role in the Great Escape season of 2004/05, netting an unforgettable stoppage-time header in a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa.

Wilson made just shy of 300 appearances for Albion before his 14-year stay at The Hawthorns was cruelly ended by injury.

Robinson returns to The Hawthorns just weeks before tackling the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham Run half marathon on Sunday, October 14.

‘Robbo’ is running to raise valuable funds for former Blues star Paul Devlin’s daughter, Annie, who suffers with Addison’s Disease.
