Hoolahan eyes extended unbeaten run

WES Hoolahan is keen to help ensure Albion pick up where they left off when Sky Bet Championship action resumes and is targeting an extended unbeaten sequence.

The Baggies have enjoyed a momentum-building run which has seen them win five and draw two of their previous seven league matches heading into the current international break.

Darren Moore's side resume domestic action next Saturday with a trip to Wigan Athletic, the first of three games in eight days, before Derby County and Blackburn Rovers visit The Hawthorns in quick succession.

And Hoolahan is determined to see Albion continue their fine form when league matters gets back underway.

"It's always nice to have a little break and a few days off to recharge the batteries and get going again," said Hoolahan.

"We went on a nice little run and hopefully we're prepared now to come back and go on another run again."

He added: "We've had a good start to the campaign, it's a tough league, you're going to have ups and downs, hopefully we can keep it going."

Hoolahan, 36, is enjoying life at Albion having signed a short-term deal in mid-September.

The attacking midfielder, having also completed 90 valuable minutes of game time in the League Cup, has registered three unbeaten substitute appearances in the Championship.

And he is hoping not to taste defeat any time soon.

"It's been good, I'm really enjoying it, the boys have been great and the staff in the backroom have been great," said Hoolahan. "So I've been really enjoying it.

"It's good to get on the pitch, it's good to get some games in, get some minutes.

"We're playing well at the moment and hopefully we can keep it going."
