DWIGHT Gayle has thanked his team-mates after picking up the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for September.
The in-form forward netted five goals in as many games as Darren Moore’s men recorded 13 points with four wins and a draw.
And Dwight reserved special mention for strike-partner Jay Rodriguez.
“It’s obviously a nice achievement for myself personally but I’d like to thank the team because they’re a massive reason behind me performing so well,” said Gayle.
“Jay and I up top together has worked well but the whole team is helping out and the way we set out to play gives us great chances.
“Hopefully we can keep taking those chances for the rest of the season.”
Dwight also picked up September’s Ideal Boilers Goal of the Month award for a strike he says is the best of his career to date.
“It’s nice to win that vote and I appreciate everyone who voted for me,” he added.
“To be honest, it’s probably the best goal I’ve ever scored in my career so for it to win Goal of the Month is perfect.
“It was a nice goal and the fact it got us the win is even more important.”
