Darren coy on key quartet

ALBION will check on the fitness of a clutch of first-team players as they prepare to welcome Blackburn Rovers to The Hawthorns.

The Baggies are looking to recover from back-to-back setbacks against Wigan Athletic and Derby County - the latter of which saw Ahmed Hegazi report a tight hamstring prior to kick-off, with Dwight Gayle (calf) and Kieran Gibbs (hip) replaced at half-time owing to injury.

Gareth Barry, sidelined with a minor calf complaint, also missed the Rams fixture and will be assessed prior to the clash against Rovers.

Head Coach Darren Moore is keeping his cards typically close to his chest.

"We've got a few knocks," he acknowledged.

"We'll have a look at Dwight. He's probably the more doubtful one in the group.

"We'll check Kieran Gibbs, Ahmed Hegazi and Gareth Barry. We'll see where they are but at this moment they're 50/50.

"I'll be advised by the medical team to see if any are fit.

"We'll take that into consideration ahead of the game - it's all part and parcel of the physical demands in this league."
