‘Unity’ behind ‘accomplished performance’

DARREN Moore says “unity” helped deliver an “accomplished performance” to sweep aside Leeds United at The Hawthorns.

Backed by a full house the Baggies netted four second-half goals to claim a 4-1 victory over the side who came into the weekend as Championship leaders.

The Albion gaffer called for a united front in the lead up to the fixture and insists the “electric atmosphere” carried his side to the win.

“That was a good performance, an accomplished performance, and a good three points as well,” he said.

“We always felt we had a performance like that coming. The boys put in a level of performance that we needed from the first minute to the end.

“They showed what a talented bunch they are.

“We spoke on Friday about everyone coming together and the word we used was ‘unity’ and we had that tonight.

“That has to be a barometer for us for the rest of the season. In terms of when the team dynamics and the cohesion is right on the pitch, the atmosphere is electric, and we had that tonight.

“We had a full house - credit to everybody in all areas of the football club. We’ll enjoy that three points tonight.”
