Albion PL2 1 Wolves PL2 2

ALBION’s PL2 side slipped to a narrow 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday afternoon at Palm Training Ground.

The derby clash was overshadowed by a serious-looking head injury suffered by Baggies defender Robbie McCourt early in the second half.

The youngster received medical attention on the pitch before being taken away in an ambulance.

Niall Ennis’s smart finish from inside the penalty area gave the visitors the lead after 51 minutes. Benny Ashley-Seal then doubled Wolves’ advantage from the penalty spot with 20 minutes left on the clock.

Forward Callum Morton pulled one back for the Baggies inside the final five minutes of normal time, confidently dispatching a penalty past Harry Burgoyne.

James Shan’s side pushed for an equaliser and nearly had it when Evan Pierce’s header was denied by Burgoyne.

ALBION: Palmer; Ferguson, Jameson, McCourt (Brown 66); Meredith, Harper, Bradley (Pierce 79), Harmon; Leko, Clayton-Phillips (Azaz 90), Morton.

Substitutes: House, Wilding.
