JAMES Shan is looking forward to he Baggies’ first Premier League 2 Division Two game of the year on Monday evening.
Albion’s under-23s travel down to take on Brighton at the Checkatrade.com Stadium, and Shan is hoping they can start 2018 off in a positive light against a team sitting seventh in the table and with one win in their last five league games.
“We beat them 5-1 earlier on in the season but expect them to be tough test on Monday,” he said.
“We think they'll be much like the first team, which is very organised and good on the ball.
“I was obviously disappointed that the game against Wolves last week was postponed because a lot of our players who have been out on loan were due to play in that one.
“But it means we’ve had another week on the training ground, and that could be useful considering what a busy rest of the month our youth sides have.
“It would certainly be great to start the year with a good result, so we’ll be trying our best to do that.”
